Mr. Rooster is a swingin’, rockin’, and sometimes bluegrassin’ band within the Long Island and NYC jam scenes.
Inspired by the classics, Mr. Rooster’s fresh repertoire includes tight vocal harmonies and soaring lead guitars, occasionally with a bluegrass blend. The band’s self-titled debut album contains tunes that you’ll catch yourself humming, plus their own special brand of musical hijinks – all written, recorded, and produced entirely by Tom Bauer and Dave Ferro in just a few months. While based in the New York metro area, Mr. Rooster enjoys touring up and down the East Coast.
Tom Bauer started playing the piano when he was 4 years old and has been jamming ever since. For nearly three decades he's been enthusiastically and steadily performing (adept at guitar, piano, bass, mandolin, banjo and more), composing, mixing, and producing. Tom is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, co-organizer of the Heckscher Project annual live arts event, founder of Pocket Posse Recording, and the proud dad of his dog/rivermonster, Duncan.
Dave Ferro came up in Long Island’s blues community. As a teenager, he played every weekend at blues jams, eventually hosting his own weekly jam. Dave’s love for the guitar doesn’t end with blues music. He spent years studying classical guitar and performing in numerous recitals. He has played professionally in big bands, pit orchestras, and fronted his own rock trio. Dave is also an adjunct music professor, where his thorough understanding of music and his abilities as a multi-instrumentalist make him an exceptional educator.
